BECAUSE EVERY GRANDMA IS A SUPERHERO IN DISGUISE
Welcome to Club Grandmarama —
The World’s First Grandma
Superhero Movement
It started with one question: Where do grandmas go when they disappear from our daily lives?
From that spark — and one inspiring conversation about Alzheimer’s — bestselling author, award-winning screenwriter, storyteller, and all-around creative powerhouse Jennifer Barrette dreamed up Club Grandmarama, a globe-spanning adventure about the fiercest superhero you never saw coming.
Grandmarama isn’t just a character — she’s the beating heart of a movement. Bitten by a genetically altered bug courtesy of the villainous Oskar Larue (scientist, bug museum curator, and lonely orphan on a misguided mission to steal all the world’s grandmotherly love), Grandmarama escapes captivity, gains superpowers, and sets out to rescue grandmas everywhere.
But this isn’t just a story for the page. We’re building Club Grandmarama one bite-sized piece at a time:
-
The Children’s Picture Book – fully illustrated and ready to launch in 2026.
-
Instagram Stories – bringing the sass, the laughs, and the everyday heroics of grandmas to your feed.
-
Podcast & YouTube – true stories of real-life grandma superheroes.
-
Video Game – think Angry Birds, but with capes, teacups, wine glasses, and rescue missions.
-
Get Real About Grandmas - a non-fiction book, part of the series of books Jennifer has developed, only this one is all about REAL stories of REAL Grandma Superheroes.
-
The Film: The Grandmarama animated film is currently in creative development, and boy, oh boy, as Grandmarama would say, "it's gonna be a doozie!"
Alongside the entertainment, we plan to roll out a Give Back Program supporting organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association and Hilarity for Charity — because in our world, grandmas don’t fade into the background.
Jennifer has spent years — and her own resources — developing this brand across publishing, film, and gaming, fueled by her belief in Projects with a Purpose. Now, she’s on a mission to make sure the world never underestimates a grandma with a cause.
