WE LOVE A GRANDMA STORY AND WE KNOW YOU DO TOO!

At CLUB GRANDMARAMA, we're on the lookout for those delightful, true stories of everyday grandmas doing the extraordinary. We’re putting together a heartwarming collection for our upcoming book, GET REAL ABOUT GRANDMAS. (part of the GET REAL series, which includes books on Divorce, Parenting, Grief etc) This one is going to be EPIC! We want your stories—the kind that make readers laugh, cry, and maybe even call their own grandmas. Think of it as your chance to turn that unforgettable grandma tale into a timeless treasure. We're after first-person stories with a beginning, middle, and end—just like grandma’s famous three-course Sunday dinners.

The most powerful GRANDMA STORIES are about the times when grandmas go above and beyond—whether it’s an act of love, service, courage, or just that one time she showed everyone how it’s really done. We’re all ears for tales of Grandma WISDOM, Grandma STRENGTH, Grandma LOVE, and of course, a good dose of Grandma HUMOR! After all, nobody knows how to get the last laugh quite like a grandma.

Guidelines 

1. Tell an exciting, heartwarming or funny story about your GRANDMA or someone who was a GRANDMA figure in your life. Your story should be written in the first person and should be about your Grandmother, yourself as a Grandma, or someone close to you.

2. Tell your story in a way that will make the reader cry, laugh, get goose bumps or say “OMG! I love that GRANDMA!"

3. The story should start  with the punch - do not start your story with an introduction.

4. Write from the heart. These Grandma stories need to be touching, heartwarming, and amazing!

5. Write in the present about something that happened in the past, yesterday, or stories passed down through family  history.

6. Keep your story to 1200 words or less. Short and sweet is our mission for this collective!

7. Your story must be true. No fiction, no creative writing.

8. Please note: WE DO NOT PAY FOR SUBMISSIONS. WE ONLY PAY FOR STORIES IF WE ACTUALLY PUBLISH THEM IN ONE OF OUR BOOKS, TYPICALLY 6 MONTHS TO 2 YEARS AFTER SUBMISSION. This is why it is so very important to leave us your contact information. We will not ever publish your story, name, or any information without contacting you first.
